In 1935, the obverse design of all denominations was simplified: the inscription “Workers of the world, unite!” disappeared from the coin, and from then on the obverse featured only the state emblem and the abbreviation USSR beneath it. In this form, the obverse design remained unchanged until 1957; only the number of ribbons in the emblem changed according to the number of republics included in the Union:
