A forgery to the detriment of collectors. Overprint on stamps of the USSR.
Transnistria proclaimed its independence from Moldova on September 2, 1990. In June 1992, postal authorities in Tiraspol, the capital and administrative center of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, made an overprint on two standard Soviet Union stamps. The overprints read: "Tiraspol / 30-VI-92" (Tiraspol / June 30, 1992) and two new denominations: "20 kop." and "28 kop.". These stamps were used only from July 3 to July 21, 1992, before being confiscated and destroyed by Moldovan authorities in Chișinău.
On November 18, 1993, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic decided to issue its first postage stamps. The first Transnistrian stamp was designed by Grigory Bronza and was released on December 31, 1993.
Overprint on 1 Kopeck 1992.
