Shirak Water Canal. The initial section of the Shirak irrigation system up to the crossing with the railway has been put into operation since the summer of 1925. The opening of the Shirak Canal, which took place on June 21, 1925, turned into a major celebration for the Armenian people. The economic significance of the Shirak Canal is great not only for the Leninakan plateau, but also for the country as a whole.

The monetary notes had legal tender status within the scope of this enterprise’s authority and were valid when bearing the organization’s stamps on the reverse side. The notes were backed by goods and products and remained in circulation until December 31, 1924.
