The "Ardatov type" stamp is a philatelic term for the fifth design type used by the EZGB to issue zemstvo postage stamps starting in 1902. According to published sources, the name was assigned after Ardatovsky Uyezd, for whose stamp printing it was first used.
January 1, 1871 β the Kadnikov zemstvo post was opened.
From 1903 onward, all subsequent issues of zemstvo postage stamps were produced in St. Petersburg at the Expedition for the Preparation of State Papers.
