Ardatov-type stamps.

January 1, 1878 β€” the Zemstvo post of Zenkov Uyezd (Poltava Governorate) was opened. Mail was sent from the uyezd center, the town of Zenkov, to the district along three routes twice a week. Delivery of private correspondence was paid for with Zemstvo postage stamps of 1, 2, and 3 kopecks. The design of most stamps was composed of typographic ornaments. They were printed in private printing houses in Poltava. Some stamps bear an ΠΈΠ·ΠΎΠ±Ρ€Π°ΠΆΠ΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ of the uyezd coat of arms. From 1901, the stamps were also printed at the EZGB. The stamps were cancelled in ink (by crossing out, by writing the date, the surname of the Zemstvo employee, or the name of the locality).
