Keleberda is a village in the Kremenchug Uyezd of the Poltava Governorate; as an exception to the application of the “Temporary Rules” of 1882, Keleberda (with its surroundings) was opened for Jewish settlement.

The village was founded in the 17th century as a company town of the Poltava Regiment in 1660–1674. After 1654, when Left-Bank Ukraine was annexed to Russia, the village became part of the Lepliava Company.
