Fantastic issue of Turkestan. The stamps appeared for sale in 1920, claimed to have been issued by Baron Ungern-Sternberg before his army retreated from Eastern Turkestan to Mongolia. The issue includes 20 stamps with overprints on imperforate 1- and 2-kopeck stamps of the Russian Empire. The stamps are clearly of foreign manufacture, since in the word "RUB" (denominations of 5 and 10 rubles) the letter "B" is replaced by a soft sign ("Π¬").
