A fantasy issue of Turkestan. The stamps appeared on sale in 1920, presented as having been issued by Baron Ungern-Sternberg before the retreat of his army from Eastern Turkestan to Mongolia. The issue consists of 20 stamps with overprints on imperforate 1- and 2-kopeck stamps of the Russian Empire. The stamps are clearly of foreign manufacture, since in the abbreviation "RUB" (denominations of 5 and 10 rubles) a soft sign ("Π¬") was printed instead of the letter "B".
