3 May in Russia saw the abolition of the military field courts, which had been introduced in the country by Stolypin’s government to combat revolutionary terror. Over eight months of operation, these courts handed down 1,102 death sentences; however, only 683 people were actually executed.
1 June: Charges were brought against 55 Duma deputies for anti-government activities.
