The tenth definitive issue of USSR stamps was put into circulation from January 1, 1961 to August 1966. In January 1961, in connection with the monetary reform, stamps of the tenth definitive issue entered circulation with the new price scale. Initially, the series consisted of seven denominations. For the first time, the year of issue was indicated on definitive stamps.
On the miniature, artist Vasily Zavyalov depicted a combine operator at the helm. In 1958, Vasily Zavyalov was nominated for the title "Honored Artist of the RSFSR"; however, due to an error on the stamp "Meeting of Ministers of Communications of Socialist Countries in Moscow" (the colors of the Czechoslovak flag were reversed), the title was not awarded to Zavyalov. Vasily Vasilyevich became an Honored Artist of the RSFSR only ten years later. He is buried at Danilov Cemetery, plot 36, in a family grave.
