The Transcaucasian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic was a republic within the Soviet Union that existed from 1922 to 1936. The TSFSR consisted of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The TSFSR was one of the four republics that signed the Treaty on the Creation of the USSR in 1922. The TSFSR was ostensibly created to strengthen the economic situation and Bolshevik control over the region. The TSFSR was dissolved after the adoption of the 1936 Constitution of the Soviet Union, and the republics within it were individually reorganized as republics of the Soviet Union.
