The People's House in Kalush is a delightful example of architectural art, having become a symbol of national culture at the end of the 19th century. It was built in 1880 for holding creative evenings and ideological gatherings of the cultural elite of Ukrainian society of that time. The most important highlight of these evenings was the performance on August 12, 1884, by the outstanding patriot and people's activist, Ivan Yakovlevich Franko. Details of the meeting can be learned from an informational plaque mounted on the walls of the building. The elegant architecture of the building attracts attention from hundreds of meters away.

This is an unusual structure, built in an L-shape. In the center stands a conical tower with a spire. This distinctive feature makes the People's House unlike any other building in the city. The protruding tower with its patterned balcony is clearly visible from all sides of the street. The architectural style is defined as early Art Nouveau. All details have been preserved in excellent condition; the building is frequently repaired and undergoes interior restoration work.
