On August 4, 1941, a series of 7 stamps was issued in the town of Mõisaküla. The stamps of the USSR and Estonia were overprinted in black ink with a handstamp cut in linoleum, with the text "Vaba Eesti" ("Free Estonia") and a new denomination, in one or two lines. A total of 2,705 copies were overprinted. The stamps were sold at the post offices in Mõisaküla and Abja, and a small number by the Uue-Kariste postal agency. They remained in circulation until August 16, 1941.
