The Deulino Truce between Russia and Poland. The Poles unsuccessfully tried to seize Mozhaysk, after which they advanced on Moscow, where they were joined by Cossacks under the command of Sahaidachny. On October 1 an assault on Moscow was launched, but it was repelled; after an equally unsuccessful attack on the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, Wladyslaw entered into negotiations with the Russians, which led to the conclusion of the Deulino Truce: for 14 and a half years the Smolensk, Chernihiv, and Seversk regions were ceded to the Poles, but Wladyslaw did not renounce his claims to the Moscow throne.
