Mint error: single-sided strike. A single-sided striking error occurs when two blanks enter the coining press at the same time. As a result, two coins are produced with one side not struck. This side is not perfectly flat, but shows deformation corresponding to the die design that impacted it through the second blank. This error is quite rare, as it is typically rejected at the mint.
