29 September โ the Battle of Horodok โ one of the battles of the Russo-Polish War of 1654โ1667, fought near Horodok in what is now Lviv Oblast. The Russian army and Ukrainian Cossacks led by Prince Grigory Romodanovsky and the Myrhorod regimental colonel Grigory Lesnytsky defeated the Polish-Lithuanian army of Stanislaw Potocki, which was forced to retreat, abandoning its entire baggage train. Potocki soon surrendered to the Swedes with the remnants of his army.
