21 November — in the village of Preobrazhenskoye near Moscow, an alliance treaty is concluded between Peter I and the Polish king and Saxon Elector Augustus II (the Preobrazhensky Allied Treaty) on coordinating military actions against Sweden and the subsequent division of conquests.
20 December — Peter I decrees that the celebration of the New Year in Russia be moved from 1 September to 1 January.
