This year, for the first time, the minting of silver kopeks begins—not the former “scale” coins, but the familiar round shape. For minting, low-grade silver (396 fineness) is used, so out of the total weight of 0.6 grams only 0.24 grams account for pure metal. It is known that in 1713 the Red Mint issued silver kopeks, altyns, and five-kopeck coins for a total amount of 542.51 rubles.
