April 23 — at 15:45 Moscow time, at the age of 76, the first President of Russia, Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin, died at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation. He had been hospitalized 12 days before his death. The death was caused by cardiac arrest.
